Magnolia Necklace
Blooming magnolias are a common sight across Aotearoa in spring. This necklace features a hand sculpted magnolia branch at its early stages of bloom with a few buds and a single opening flower. The rust coloured Madeira citrine and light blue gemstones either side reference the colour of magnolia’s branches against the cool blue spring sky. Elongated seed pearls dangle from at the front and down the nape of the neck like falling petals.
The Magnolia Necklace is part of a series of work inspired by flower arrangement. Since returning from overseas I’ve been staying with my parents who are avid gardeners. My Mum is a florist and makes arrangements with flowers from her garden almost daily. I’ve been inspired by her work as well as her collection of floristry books, in particular the unique forms of ikebana.
This necklace is adjustable from 42 - 47cm. Links can be added or subtracted to alter this length, just get in touch.
Made by hand by Hannah from 925 sterling silver, a vintage natural Madeira citrine, lab grown zircon, lab grown white sapphire, vintage rice pearls, and machine made chains.
Each piece of Dangerous Goods Jewellery is made individual from start to finish. Although some designs are similar no two pieces will ever be exactly the same as one another.
